Procedure

Knowing what to expect when you get dental implants can help lessen the stress of your procedure. The following is what you can expect when you decide that dental implants might be right for you.

When you first come in, your dentist will do an initial consultation and evaluation. She/he will let you know if you are a candidate for dental implants, and then go over your options.

Your professional will take a 3D x-ray to capture a complete view of your teeth and jawbone.

Your tooth or teeth will be prepared, if necessary. We will clean bacteria or do a full tooth cleaning if it is required.

Your decayed or damaged tooth will be extracted, and we can graft the socket.

The implant will be placed, usually the next day, unless the computer-guided surgery is being utilised. If that is the case, we may ask you to come back for the implant while we perfect the procedure.

Once the implant is placed, a final impression will be taken, and a crown will be secured in place.

The entire process may take a few days up to two weeks, depending on the individual’s oral condition.
